After a career in information technology I retired 15 years ago and took up acting, Shakespeare, and musing.

I was born and raised in Charleston West Virginia, and now live with my wife and dog in Berkeley California.

I have moderated discussion groups for over 10 years where we discuss the very subjects of my blog. Indeed, it is at the request of members of that group that I begin recording my particular view on values and the quality of life.
